Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE)

Embdes has developed a compact EV chargers or EVSE, to cater to slow / normal / fast charging needs for the electric vehicles. The solution shall be used as off-board charge system. The same solution shall be upgraded to meet various other charging requirements such as higher battery voltage, higher power, fast charging, etc. The design is modular and shall also be adapted for on-board in-vehicle charge solution as well. The hardware can be customized according to the customer requirements and OEM to meet various use cases.

EVSE is combined with state-of-the-art embedded systems, power electronics and control systems to cater to the need of modern electric vehicles for different types/modes of battery charging requirements. It measures and precisely regulates system voltage and current. Controller has protection capabilities to detect fault conditions and isolate the system & the EV thereby ensuring the safety of the ecosystem.

Low Voltage 3.3kW DC EVSE for 2/3/4 Wheeler Electric Vehicles

System Benefits:
  • The power stage shall be cascaded up to a 10kW (3.3kW x 3)
  • Support to scale the 48V power stage of the EVSE as per customer requirements
  • The mains AC is rectified to DC 380V by the PFC section. The GaN and SiC does the rectifier and boost converter functions. PFC section is controlled by MCU.
  • The DC-DC converter section steps down 380V DC to 48V DC for charging the Battery. DC-DC section is controlled by charge controller MCU.
  • The interface section connects the output charge coupler to the EV.

High voltage 10kW DC EVSE for 4 Wheeler Electric Vehicles

System Benefits:
  • The power stage shall be cascaded up to a 30kW (10kW x 3)
  • Support to scale the 1000V power stage of the EVSE as per customer requirements
  • The mains AC is rectified to DC 750V by the PFC section. The GaN and SiC does the rectifier and boost converter functions. PFC section is controlled by MCU.
  • The DC-DC converter section converts 750V DC to 800V DC for charging the Battery. DC-DC section is controlled by charge controller MCU.
  • The interface section connects the output charge coupler to the EV.
